Kids Ministry Director

Position Description:

-Create online presence for children’s ministry (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc.), posting updates, advice, or content on a regular basis
-Create visuals for events (Parent’s Night Out, holidays, VBS, etc.) and begin advertising via newsletter or social media a minimum of two weeks before said event


Weekly Curriculum
-Create weekly curriculum for 'littles' (3 years old to 1st grade) and 'bigs' (2nd grade to 6th grade); curriculum will align with weekly sermon series 
-Gather and stock any craft supplies as needed for curriculum
-Gather, stock, and distribute snack to appropriate classrooms

Sunday Morning Check-in
-Create and manage check-in process 
-Verbally communicate upcoming events to parents (Parent’s Night Out, holidays, VBS, etc.)

-Maintain family database and ensure they are provided resources and updates through online presence
-Annually: audit family profiles, update as needed, reach out to parents to verify contact
- Notify pastoral staff and elders if families/children have been absent for more than a month, so that pastoral staff can touch base with them

Create The Culture

-Promote and manage a base of volunteer leaders to serve in ministry (ideally parents in the church)

-Create a positive culture of promoting each volunteer's God-given gifts
-Establish and enforce clear rules to provide a safe and positive environment for children to thrive in
-Invite constant communication and feedback to create a culture of openness and improvement
-Create a culture of prayer for your volunteers, asking for prayer requests, letting them
know you are praying for them, and following up on those requests

Position Requirements:

-Passion for children and their healthy development (spiritually, emotionally, and physically)

-High School Diploma or equivalent

-Completed or current Bachelor's Degree preferred (particularly in education or childcare)

-Background Check and Fingerprint Clearance Card

Personal Requirements:

-Affirmation of The Spring Midtown's mission statement and essential beliefs

-Attendee of The Spring Midtown 

-Be a team player: willing to work alongside other staff and volunteers

-Display a heart for ministry

-An entrepreneurial spirit that establishes creative avenues for children to follow and grow with Jesus

-Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Canva, and Planning Center preferred
